terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before engaging with our content or contacting us for kitten adoption.
1. General Information
Coonfections Maine Coon Cattery is a small, home-based cattery located in Pikeville, North Carolina. Our website is intended to provide information about our breeding program, available cats and kittens, adoption policies, and educational resources.
2. Use of Website
You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission
- Misrepresent yourself or use false information when contacting us
All content on this website—including text, photos, graphics, and logos—is the property of Coonfections Maine Coon Cattery and may not be used without written permission.
3. Kitten Availability and Pricing
Kitten availability, pricing, and adoption policies are subject to change. While we make every effort to keep our website updated, availability is not guaranteed until confirmed by us directly.
Our pricing structure is as follows:
- Kittens (4–11 months): $3,500
- Young adults (1–3 years): $2,000
- Retired adults / non-breeding pets (4+ years): $600
Kittens sold with breeding rights are offered by private agreement and at a higher rate or in exchange for kittens suited to our program.
4. Reservation & Waitlist Policy
We operate on a waitlist based system. Interested adopters are added in the order of inquiry and are contacted once kittens are available for reservation. encourage in-person visits whenever possible. We reserve the right to screen potential buyers and determine the best placements for our kittens.
5. Payment Policy
We do not require deposits to reserve a kitten or cat. This policy is in place due to the increasing number of scam operations targeting Maine Coon buyers. We understand the importance of transparency and want prospective families to feel secure in their decision before making a financial commitment.
Once a kitten or cat is selected and officially reserved:
- Full payment is required before the scheduled pick-up date.
- Accepted payment methods include:
- Cash
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Venmo
Please note that some electronic payment platforms may have daily transaction limits. In these cases, payments may need to be completed over multiple days. Full payment must be received prior to release of the reserved kitten or cat.
6. Right to Refuse
Coonfections Maine Coon Cattery reserves the right to refuse or cancel the sale of any kitten or cat at any point before the adoption is finalized, if we believe the placement is not in the kitten’s best interest. In such cases, any payments made will be refunded.
7. Health Guarantee
We offer a 5-year health guarantee on kittens adopted from our cattery. Details of this guarantee are outlined in our Kitten Contract, which must be signed prior to finalizing any adoption. While we thoroughly test our cats and kittens, we cannot guarantee future health outcomes beyond the scope of this agreement.
8. Breeding Rights
Most kittens are sold as pets and will be spayed/neutered before going to their new homes. If you are an experienced breeder and are interested in a breeding-quality kitten, please contact us directly to discuss your program. Breeding rights are granted at our discretion.
9. Educational Materials
The content provided in our “Education & Support” section is for informational purposes only and does not substitute for veterinary advice. We aim to share the most accurate and up-to-date knowledge but always recommend working with a trusted veterinarian for your pet’s care.
10. Limitation of Liability
Coonfections Maine Coon Cattery is not responsible for:
- Loss or injury caused by the misuse of information found on this site
- Technical issues that interrupt site access
- Outcomes related to third-party breeder referrals
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or change these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with the new effective date. Continued use of the site indicates your acceptance of the current terms.

Return and Refund Policy

At Coonfections Maine Coon Cattery, we are committed to ensuring that our kittens are placed in safe, loving, and well-prepared homes. While we work hard to match families with the right kitten for their needs and lifestyle, we understand that sometimes unexpected situations arise.
This policy outlines how we handle returns, refunds, and replacement kittens, and how we uphold our commitment to both our clients and our cats.
Health Guarantee and Returns for Health Concerns
Each kitten adopted from us is backed by a five-year health guarantee, the terms of which are detailed in our Kitten Contract. This guarantee covers specific genetic and congenital conditions and reflects our commitment to breeding healthy, well-screened kittens.
If a serious health issue covered by this guarantee is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian and confirmed with appropriate documentation, we will:
- Work with you to explore treatment options, and
- Offer a replacement kitten from a future litter when one becomes available.
We do not offer cash refunds for health-related concerns.
Returns for Temperament or Lifestyle Mismatch
We strive to produce kittens with sweet, affectionate temperaments and work closely with adoptive families to ensure a good match. However, if a kitten is found to be incompatible with your household’s needs or lifestyle, you may return the cat or kitten to us.
In such cases:
- You may be eligible to receive a replacement kitten from a future litter, depending on the situation and availability.
- We require honest feedback about the challenges so we can continue to improve our program and better support our families.
We do not offer refunds for temperament-related returns.
Surrender and Lifetime Return Policy
As part of our lifelong commitment to our cats:
- Any cat or kitten from Coonfections Maine Coons must be returned to us if you are unable to keep them for any reason.
- We will accept them back into our care, regardless of age or health status, to ensure their continued safety and well-being.
While we appreciate early notice and full transparency when arranging a return, no refunds will be issued for surrendered cats due to the costs associated with their ongoing care, housing, and rehoming.
Veterinary Responsibility and Owner Expectations
By adopting from us, you agree to:
- Provide timely and appropriate veterinary care, including preventive care, vaccinations, and prompt attention to any medical concerns.
- Communicate with us about any ongoing questions, behavioral challenges, or health concerns. We are happy to assist and connect you with resources.
